What does it mean to be happy? According to the dictionary: “Happiness is a mental or emotional state of well-being defined by positive or pleasant emotions ranging from contentment to intense joy. Happy mental states may also reflect judgements by a person about their overall well-being.”
Are you happy? With all three areas of your life, body, mind and soul?
Are you content? Are you experiencing mild to intense joy on a regular basis?
There is a simple mathematic equation to figure this one out. If your life meets or exceeds your expectations, you are happy.
If it is lacking a little or a lot, you will not be happy.
As harsh as this sounds, it is simple psychology. There are three areas of each human life: mind, body, and soul. It is completely possible to be happy in one area but not in another, but one will not experience true joy without all three.
Our minds are capable of wondrous and incredible things, we must constantly be learning and pushing toward greater achievement.
Our bodies must carry us through this life and be our support system. We must treat it like a fine machine and take very good care of it.
Our souls are capable of love beyond borders of time and space. Our souls are connected to the infinite and know the wisdom of the ages. Developing an understanding of our soul and the connection to other souls will lead us into the Kingdom of God.
We find ourselves in another, seek and you will find, ask and you will be given situations. If you find yourself unhappy in any of these areas, pick the most painful one and starting working. Find your answers, they are out there.
No one can do the work for you, no one else can make you happy but you. It is not always a fast journey but happiness is a journey that is worth the effort and one that cannot be revoked or taken from you.
It even becomes catching and you will soon see you are able to give it away.
