Third grade students in the classes of Chris Brown and Jennifer Smallwood at South Elementary entered the Neosho Fall Festival Scarecrow contest on Oct. 2. They received first place and their scarecrow was auctioned off for $130. The funds will go to a local food pantry.

On Saturday, Sept. 26, Neosho Bright Futures hosted a 5K walk/run located at Morse Park. Robin Camerer and Cari Southern represented South School PTO. Student Cade Camerer ran in the 15 and Under division and finished in 26:56, receiving first place. First grade teacher Michelle Ball received second place for her age division.
