• Seneca High School announced its 2010 Homecoming Queen candidates and attendants, including Shelby Cox and Alyssa Henderson.

• Seneca’s varsity football team has been turning a lot of heads this season with their play on the field, surprising many.

• Seneca’s junior high football team took on the Cassville Wildcats at Earl Campbell Stadium on Thursday, Sept. 30.

• The 4th annual Park of Lights will be on display at the Twin Bridges State park, located at the intersection of Highways 60 and 137 in the Wyandotte, Okla., area.

• Gene Albert Severs, 65, of Racine, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Sept. 28, after injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Hoxie, Ark.

• Seneca High School’s football homecoming will be Friday , Oct. 6. The Indians will host the East Newton Patriots.

• One Leader of Tomorrow is Steven Lee Jr., 2, son of Steven and Brenda Adams, of Seneca.

• Mr. and Mrs. Gary Kelly, of Miami, Okla., announced the birth of a daughter Wednesday, Oct. 2. She weighed 8 pounds, 4 ounces and was named Ashley Renee.

• The Seneca High School marching band will compete Saturday, Oct. 5, in the annual Houn Dawg Marching Festival at Aurora.

• George Luke, of Pittsburgh, Penn., is here visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. . Luke

• Miss Wilma Friend and Larry Giles exchanged wedding vows Saturday, Sept. 13, in the Miller Flats Assembly of God Church.
