The Merry Makers’ FCE Club members met at the fairgrounds on July 7 at 9:30. Each member brought the item or items that they were entering.
We set up our table and arranged our display. After everything had been set up, the members went to Happy House for lunch. After lunch, we held our meeting.
In old business, we discussed our project on the special needs classes at E.N. We already have 23 chair backs ready for them and several bean bags. Ruth sent off to the Morris Press for their cookbook kit. We will start collecting recipes from club members. These members — Ruth, Van, Nola, Bev and Erline — will meet to make the decision on the cookbook we will use.
In new business, the State Conference will be at the Grand Glase at Lake of the Ozarks. It runs from Sept. 28th to Oct.2nd. Our next club meeting will be Aug. 11th at 1 p.m. at Doris Everett’s home in Joplin. Our dues will be due then. It is $25 unless you are over 80 and then it is $21.10. Any new member gets their first year free.
Erline gave our lesson on civility and respect. Our meeting was then adjourned.
Those attending the meeting were Eloise Kitchen, Doris Everett, Theresia Forgey, Nola McMillen, Erline Hoeppner, Van Stufflebeam, Bev Caywood, Jo McLemore, Nancy Stipp, Sharon Breedlove, and Lee House.
