On Sept. 18 my parents, brother, fiance and I went to eat at Texas Roadhouse for its “media night” and boy did they treat us well.
Now, I have been to several Texas Roadhouses before, but having one this close to home is absolutely wonderful.
Upon arrival we were seated immediately and served our drinks and many, many appetizers. My favorite of course was they’re fried pickles (my absolute favorite food). And now I can eat them at anytime I wish.
They had a limited menu while we were there but that was totally fine with me! I got their 8 ounce sirloin steak and a chicken breast, house salad and loaded mashed potatoes. Trust me I can eat a lot, but when my food came I soon realized I would have lunch for the next couple of days.
Their portions are so huge you could almost order one meal for two people! But it was just as great the second time as it was the first time. Although I have to take into consideration all the bread, peanuts and appetizers I ate before the real deal came. If I hadn’t filled up on that I may have eaten a little better. But that just goes to show how freaking good their food is!
The chicken was my favorite part of the main course, I will say. It was covered in BBQ sauce and was tender and just wonderful. Another fun fact about Texas Roadhouse: their sides are enough (quantity-wise) to be the main meal. No joke.
The cheese fries come out on a giant plate and their mashed potatoes come in a big, deep bowl and are overflowing the bowl.
Aside from the food, they have a great working staff there. There are several waitresses that walk around to make sure you are okay and they are all friendly.
And one thing that you don’t normally see at all restaurants, they have learned certain dance routines to certain songs that play at the restaurant. It’s almost like dinner and a show!
Texas Roadhouse officially opened on Monday, Sept. 21, so if you haven’t made your way there yet, you need to do it now!
It is a great addition to the Joplin community and people will love it.
