Four Neosho High School students made their debut at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts (home to the Kansas City Symphony and Symphony Chorus, Lyric Opera, the Kansas City Ballet, and many professional touring shows each year) while performing with the highly select honor choirs for the Southwest division of the American Choral Directors Association. The students in these choirs were selected by audition in the fall and include students from Missouri, Arkansas, Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, New Mexico, and Colorado.
The selected students then came together in Kansas City on March 7-10 to rehearse and perform together under the direction of internationally renowned conductors, composers, and music educators. Jack Briggs (sophomore) was a member of the 7-10th grade men’s choir. Baylee Scribner (sophomore) was a member of the 8-10th grade women’s choir. Zack Grant and Kristlyn Bridgman (seniors) were members of the 11-12th grade mixed choir.
