Seneca’s cross county teams competed at Lamar Golf on Tuesday, Sept. 29.
In the varsity boys division, Joshua Garcia placed 13th with a time of 18:47, with Payden Armstrong following shortly in 20th place with a time of 19:13.
Elijah Daniels placed 40th with a time of 20:20 and Trey Smith placed 43rd with a time of 20:23.
Sammy Peterson also placed in the 40’s with 47th in a time of 20:42, while Levi Connelly followed with a place of 51st in 21:04.
Ian Gayer finished the race in 55th place and a time of 21:16. Seneca placed third overall.
“We are really proud of the varsity boys. They’ve come a long way this season,” said John Wydick, Seneca cross county coach.
In the varsity girls division, Chantel Thiel lead the team with a 25th place time of 24:15. Gloria Caputo followed in 31st place with a time of 24:35.
The junior high placed eighth overall as a team. Evanston St. Clair lead the Indians with a 14th place finish in a time of 9:03.
Joshua Hicks placed 37rd with a time of 9:45, with Caleb Garcia right behind in 38th place in a time of 9:46.
Alex Campbell completed the race in 41st place with a time of 9:50, and Silas Hauser placed 67th with a time of 10:52.
Trevor Combes placed 103rd with a time of 12:04 and Gabe Thomas followed in 112th place with a time of 12:43.
“Coach Kline and I loved the effort our runners gave today. The one thing we look for is effort and improvement,” said Wydick.
“We look forward to traveling to Springfield to compete in the Springfield Catholic Invitational.”
